The Fussy Cut Sampler

The Fussy Cut Sampler

The Fussy Cut Sampler is a beautiful new book by my friends Nichole Ramirez and Elisabeth Woo. If you like making the most of all the interesting images you can find on fabrics now a days, then this is a book just for you. Fussy cutting refers to the act of cutting fabric to target a specific area of a print, rather than cutting the yardage into random pieces.

The book features 48 unique 9″ patchwork blocks. The book is designed as a skill-building sampler. Each block builds on the next and has specific lessons like how to work with stripes, using limited color palettes, etc.

Nicole and Elisabeth asked me to review the book and create a block for their sew a-long. I love any excuse to fussy cut, and turned my block into a patchwork bag. I can’t wait to incorporate some of these blocks into the Halloween quilts I am currently working on.
