DC Modern Quilt Guild

In late August I headed to the DC Modern Quilt Guild’s sewing day at Patches quilt shop in Mt. Airy MD. The directions on my phone took me along beautiful empty roads, and took just a little over an hour so it was quite a nice drive. I brought along my diamond hexie quilt to work on, which has been neglected in the evenings as I work on either my Halloween quilt, or drawing and painting underglazes onto pottery.
There were so many beautiful quilts shown during the “show and tell” segment of the meeting, and you can see the finished heart quilts for Pulse in the outdoor photo, they were all so amazing lined up together. The members worked on these before we joined the guild but I am so glad I got to see them before they were shipped off.
Jessee worked on tiny hexies next to me in the Rifle Paper/Cotton & Steel fabric collection. The images were all perfect for tiny fussy cutting! I have been having so much fun being a member even though I’ve only been to two sew day meetings so far. I have already taken part in one guild swap, and signed up for another, have plans to spend a day at an upcoming sewing retreat, and bought a guild t-shirt.
