I have a favorite kind of sketchbook (
paperchase’s A5 plain paper spiral bound $8 notebook) so I have several blank ones on hand, and decided to sew myself a cozy to keep my current sketchbook and pencil in. Since I knew I would be using the same size sketchbook for as long as possible, it was easy to measure the one I had, add 1 inch around (.25 seam allowance and .25 around each side for wiggle room) I used my current favorite method of finishing the edges with bias tape. I made a quilted front using my
Technicolor Halloween fabrics, and Kona cotton. I had so much fun making it that I have been trying to think what else in my life I need to sew a cozy for. It’s been very handy to as I used to set down my pencil and then have to search around the house every time I wanted to draw. Now with the zipper, my pencil gets closed up inside the cozy.
